Java 11 and Alpine versioning proposal for Frankfurt Amy Zwarico

  • Should we build and maintain our own image?
  • LTS vs non-LTS (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Java_version_history)
    • Java 11 is LTS and has support through 2026
    • Next LTS is Java 17
  • General consensus that integration team is most logical choice for hosting Java 11 alpine docker image. Pawel to review with integration team. Is Dec 6 feasible?

  • Repository Management FAQ
    • Send email to infrastructure-coordinator@onap.org
    • The Infrastructure coordinator is responsible for reviewing the request and either opening the ticket with LF-IT if everything is OK  --OR-- taking the issue back up with the PTL  --OR--  escalating it to the TSC only if something in the request is not OK and the PTL insists on moving forward anyway.
      • Status of email?
      • Concern about responsiveness.
      • Need to clarify process for committer promotions
      • Do we need a backup for the coordinator when unavailable (bus trips, vacation, etc.)

PTL Infra requests:

  • Integration/CCSDK repos requests have been approved
  • Committers' promotion approved: UUI, OOF, CCSDK

  • Preparation for CSIT Jenkins Job cleanup
    • ACTION (11/04): Morgan will send a notice to the PTLs to remind to review their CSIT jobs - if no action then clean-ups will be performed on Dec 3rd, 2019 - after the final review on PTL call (12/2)
