1. There were a number of questions on Kafka/Strimzi, Sirisha Manchikanti will report back next week.
   1. Do Kafka/Strimzi topics need to be authenticated or can unauthenticated topics be used?

The jaas.config is required to access the kafka brokers. Strimzi uses the KafkaUser CR to define this as a k8s secret.
There we also need to define which resources we need read or write access to. ie KafkaTopics

There will be no changes from policy component applications, as applications will be using same Kafka credentials to connect to the Kafka cluster and access the relavent topics.

      b. Is support for Strimzi coming in OOM?

          Yes, All topics used in policy components and a policy user will be created in OOM, Same topics and user should be used by policy components to communicate with the cluster.

                c. Will it be possible to add topics at runtime in OOM in Helm charts?

1.          Currently Yes, But this support will be deprecated in coming releases, as the support to add runtime topics is being removed from DMAP Message router
        d. The DMaaP MR is being deprecated but what is the time plan for the deprecation?

                    Not deprecated in Kohn release, I suppose in the release after Kohn. Needs to be confirmed.

                e. For Kohn, is the default mesaging mechanism still DMaaP? It will not be possible to use Kafka/Strimzi for ONAP multi-component use cases until all components support it.

                    Yes, Support for Strimzi/Kafka will be added in Kohn, and can be used with "useStrimziKafka: true" as configuration in policy values.yaml.

                f. Is DMaaP issuing certificates for Kafka/Strimzi in OOM?

                    Yes, Dmaap will be issuing certificates for Kafka/Strimzi in OOM deployment

                g. What is the tie in with Kafka/Strimzi and Service Mesh/Istio and SECCOM?
