The DMaaP Message Router is being phased out by the DMaaP project in favour of Kafka/Strimzi. For the Policy Framework project, the DMaaP Message Router has a number of vulnerable dependencies that are being flagged.

1. DMaaP MR is the default messaging technology

2. Kafka/Strimzi is supported by PAP/APEX/ACM

Proposed Approach

London Release

1. DMaaP MR remains the default messaging technology

2. Kafka/Strimzi support added to Drools/XACML

3. Change topic names to lower case

   • Check first if this creates an issue for DCAE on the POLICY_NOTIFICATION topic

4. Add a maven profile to allow Kafka/Strimzi users to exclude DMaaP MR

Montreal Release

1. Kafka/Strimzi is the default messaging technology

2. DMaaP MR is deprecated

3. Add a maven profile to allow DMaaP MR users to include DMaaP MR

New Delhi Release

1. DMaaP MR support is removed

Oslo Release

1. DMaaP DR is removed

2. Entire DMaaP is removed
