ODL xPath support

Problem statement:

Subtree filter is not very efficient when just keys for tables or a few attributes for objects should be inquired. 

NetConf RFCs also propose xPath filters:

Proposal:

Add xPath filtering to odl-netconf.

To be discussed:

Impact on mdsal  - if any?

The current state of ODL RFC8040 implementation (RFC8040) - RestConf at the northbound side supports xPath.

µTranslationFramework

ODL Plastic (as the translator)

  • Need for µTranslationFramework on each side – API provider and API consumer.

  • Every provider/consumer has µTranslationFramework from the very beginning – by default, the mapping/translation is just 1:1 or better f(x) = x.

  • The µTranslationFramework should have the capability based on “hand-shakes” to download a new translation function on demand.
