As of this writing (March, 2023), we are in the middle of the London release. After London, we have two approved release names remaining: Montreal, and New Delhi. That means that by this time next year, we will be out of approved names. Therefore, now seems to be a good time to identify some new names.
Proposal
We seek to identify four new approved release names. This will provide ONAP with approved release names through mid-2026 (assuming that we continue with a 6-month cadence). We will likely need to repeat this process again in mid-2025.
Plan
Set up wiki tables for each of the four release names (i.e., O, P, Q, R). See below.
Seed the tables with names, then ask the community to nominate additional names. Set a date for the nomination period to end.
Create a surveymonkey poll with a question (stacked rank) for each of the 4 release names.
Send the poll to the ONAP community (PTL, TSC, and release lists). Set a date to end the poll.
Review the 4 selected names from the poll results with the TSC and get approval for submission to the MAC.
Submit the 4 selected release names to the MAC for review and approval.

Release Name Nominations
Note: Nominations are locked as of April 14, 2023.
Please add your release name nominations to the tables below after reading the nomination guidelines.
The TSC will ultimately decide what recommendations to make to the LFN Marketing Committee regarding release naming. All suggestions are subject to review by the MAC and the LF in the context of copyright or trademark restrictions, global diversity, and geo-political sensitivity.
Guidelines for Nominations
The name must be the name of a real city whose first letter corresponds to the letter in the alphabet associated with each release (i.e., O, P, Q, R).
Please use the anglicized spelling of the city name that is generally accepted by the residents of the city (e.g., Kyiv not Kiev)
Each person should limit their suggestions to 1 or 2 cities per release name.
