R14 5G SON/Automation Use Case

SON Use Case New Delhi R14 Requirements : Slide deck: xx

 

For R14 New Delhi, 5G SON/Automation Use Case is focused on completing earlier carryover work for CM and updating RAN-Sim.
The major development work for this release are:

 

Enhancement for RAN-Sim/SDN-R

  • Support automated initialization of NF yang models and data in CPS

Processing of CM VES update notifications to update CPS DB

  • DMI plug-in enhancements: Registration of cmHandle, persistence of CM changes

  • Persist the CM change in CPS DB (processed by NCMP)

Documentation of sequence flow for CM initialization and updates aligned with O-RAN architecture

 

Figure 1 shows the overall architecture of the SON Use Case, with the Montreal release enhancements shown in Figure 2.

For the R13 Montreal release, the plan is to complete the CM Update Notification flow and deploy RAN SIM as part of OOM deployment.
