Meeting Notes Dec 6

Attendees:

Plan B is successful, so far
- ~$2k / month / 1 instance
- May require additional instances to efficiently handle workload without excessive queuing
- Catherine believes that we have budget. Need to follow up with Arpit.
Plan A still needs compatibility with cloud native
- Probably not available until 2Q20
Session planned for DDF / Prague (Integration-Gating Retrospective)
Morgan to give presentation to TSC on status and initial results on Dec 12
David to follow up with LFIT regarding status of VEXX solution
Team decided not to have a follow-up meeting for the time being.

Sylvain says progress on Azure Plan B
Now looking at switching back to Azure Plan A.
LFIT needs additional configuration information from Orange.
- Action: Sylvain to respond to RELENG-2415 on Monday
- Action: DW to move status to "integration"
VEXX storage class options
- SSD / HDD
From original plan, presentations to TSC on Dec 12 and Jan 23 still seems reasonable.
- David to make request to Catherine/Kenny to add to agenda

Note: Follow-up was originally planned for Oct 11, but was delayed 1 week due to the unavailability of some of the key participants.

No urgent issues reported.
Sylvain says that initial approach to Azure was not satisfactory. Now pursuing "Azure Plan B".
DW says that the VEXX solution is in-process. Need additional input from Orange team on storage requirements.
- Sylvain to exchange mail with DW to provide additional info.
Too early to update timeline. Need to wait for additional feedback on progress in order to have sufficient visibility.
Planned follow-up meeting for Nov 8.

Agreed to pursue Azure and VEXX solutions in parallel. Community can decide on final solution at a later date.

- Plan for Azure rollout (Andy's team - Sept 27)
- Negotiate w Microsoft (Arpit/GB)
- CI integration (community)
  - Team provides plan/schedule for CI integration to TSC (Morgan/Sylvain)
Followup meeting for current attendees.week of Oct 7 (David to arrange)

- Andy to follow up with Sylvain/Morgan on configuration details
- Initial setup available by Oct 4 (Andy's team)
Evaluation
- Team creates evaluation plan (Oct 25)
- Team (above) presents initial evaluation results/cost to TSC (Dec 12 ?)
- Team presents final results/cost and makes recommendation to TSC on Jan 23
- Dismantle other solution
