Agenda
Release Management Tasks:
one patch 129325 open - for Jakarta that can be merged (otherwise won't have any read the docs) - https://gerrit.onap.org/r/c/oom/+/129325 - can be merged
one patch 129321 open - release nodes for cert service - https://gerrit.onap.org/r/c/oom/platform/cert-service/+/129321 - Merged
need a branch for the cert service (still pending) @Andreas Geißler - Suggestion is to branch first then merge the 129321 into master (to force readthedocs rebuild), then
cherry pick to the new branch.Jack created branch, merged to master and cherry picked. When Cherry picked it created a new Gerrit review. Needs to be reviewed/merged by another individual. https://gerrit.onap.org/r/c/oom/platform/cert-service/+/129387
Jack abandoned for now, Gareth will recreate in order for Jack to merge. Unable to cherry pick change again possibly due to identical change id in Jakarta branch. Jack will need to restore review.
Offline installer is no longer being maintained. For Kohn, need to move to unmaintained state. (The process for doing this is still being defined by SECCOM.)
Service mesh
Andreas Geissler currently absent, will get update on return.
continuing to test. Found problem with policy not using http communication with SDC.
SDNC changes in OOM are WIP. DMaaP listener not working, issue with ElasticSearch (not yet service mesh compatible).
Current submissions for other components are not passing gating, likely due to problems in the gating environment. Once gating passes, they can be merged. @Gareth Roper will recheck submissions.
Looking to have a daily run that uses Istio.
@Radoslaw Chmiel also submitting service mesh based reviews possible conflicts with @Andreas Geißler reviews. Will check overlaps when Andreas returns.
Strimzi is having some issues related to certificates in gating. Resolved as of now.
OOM-2975 – umbrella epic for removal of AAF dependencies. Question: do we still need to allow AAF as an option via if/else in charts? Probably should first get service mesh working first. Ultimately, have the option to run with service mesh or without service (using only http).
AAF able to be configured on/off until Service Mesh enters phase 3/4. Dependencies can be removed as of Phase 2 completion however.
Need a cleanup of the Service Mesh Epics:
OOM-2232, finish remaining tasks and then close this epic. Using OOM-2820 as main service mesh epic moving forward.
ArgoCD - possibly document as an alternative installation method. Possible contribution of charts for ArgoCD.
@Vijay Kumar interested to be updated on this topic. Believes there is an implementation in AT&T which may be helpful.
Should the documentation for ONAP installation just provide specifications for the necessary K8S cluster, without dictating how the cluster is installed? https://jira.onap.org/browse/OOM-2984
Potential option: Have a basic requirement list of K8S requirements i.e. X number of worker nodes, master node and general configuration. Rather than explaining the K8S installation specifically.
PTL election:
No news so far.
