SDC Guilin Architecture Review
Project Overview
SDC is the ONAP visual modeling and design tool, which allows to create resources and services.
The output of the SDC is a set of models and artifacts, which drives the orchestration at run-time.
New component capabilities for Guilin, i.e. the functional enhancements
Support xNF Software Upgrade in association to schema updates
ETSI-Alignment for Guilin : ETSI SOL004 VNF/PNF onboarding, VNF security package
Support for Test Topology Auto Design (NFV Testing Automatic Platform)
ONAP CNF orchestration - Enhancements (new artifact type : Helm)
xNF License Management, Guilin R7 (new option to make license management on or off)
New or modified interfaces
No new interfaces, some new data types available through configuration
AAF integration → automatic retrieval of certificates through OOM Certinitializer template
Start deprecating DCAE-DS (replaced by DCAE-MOD), first step in guilin is to make DCAE-DS optional at deployment
Interface naming
SDC has an interface with DMaaP, to broadcast once new services or artifacts are distributed.
Reference to the interfaces
Distribution: SDC Distribution model
What are the system limits
As a design-time component, some S3Ps targets are lower, therefore no scalability supported today.
Involved use cases, architectural capabilities or functional requirements
E2E Network Slicing requirements for Guilin release
Listing of new or impacted models used by the project (for information only)
Support of a new type of VF, essentially an empty VF (reuse of Generic VF) with an attached HELM package
