• @Tal Liron mentioned that JDK 11 is an example of a bigger issue.

  • Vendors and vendors should be able to select libraries and components of their choice

  • They key is to have a base image

  • Tal would like to see a more aggressive approach to suggestions

  • We could provide more than one base image

  • The key is the "FROM" in a Dockerfile

  • What's important is the process

    • PTLs should be able to select base image and select packages

    • Need to talk about base images as a community effort

• @Sylvain Desbureaux agrees that in the long term we need to tackle

  • mentioned that we want to be cautious but we need to make it easy to build ONAP also

  • he pointed out that we decided to be cautious in order to help the community be comfortable with the changes
