  • Discuss approach to accelerate development of VNF Descriptor and Service Descriptor models and templates

    • Start with OASIS Simple Profile

    • Descriptor Lifecycle / stages (Alex)

      • Differentiate between Service Descriptor and Network Service Descriptor

      • Differentiate between VNF Descriptor (design time) for On-Boarding and VNF Descriptor (run-time) for instantiation/orchestration

    • Assess OASIS NFV Profile and determine subset applicable to to the ONAP VNF Descriptor and the ONAP Service Descriptor

      • Need to focus on Service as exposed via ONAP SDC vs Network Service as interpreted by the VIMs

    • Analyze the SDC Info Model, and fill in VNF Descriptor and Service Descriptor gaps

    • Analyze the HEAT Templates, and fill in VNF Descriptor gaps

    • Include support for the updated ONAP VNF Requirements Chapter (based on ETSI IFA011)

    • Include telemetry information (i.e. VES events) into VNF Descriptors and SLS information into Service Descriptor

    • Apply general approach to augmentation and extensibility of descriptors

    • Focus on Template development and base constructs

    • Align into UML modeling

    • Apply Use Cases (Services,VNF On-boarding, VNF Orchestration) to help validate and augment both VNF Descriptor and Service Descriptor

    • Work directly with OASIS TOSCA effort

    • Identify enhancements to IFA011 (and IFA015 - UML Model)
