1 Motivation
ONAP Internship is for University or College students who are interested in contributing to the ONAP project. Each intern will be working with a mentor in the ONAP community to complete a project either in 3 months (full time 40 hours a week) or 6 months (part time 20 hours a week). This is a paid internship program and the internship project can start throughout the year. As an open source project, each intern will work remotely from his or her location of choice. And, we welcome interns from anywhere in the world.
ONAP is now part of the Linux Foundation Networking group. For information on internship programs under the LF Networking umbrella, please visit here.
In order to run ONAP intern program successfully, we have many issues to discuss.
2 Discussion
2.1 Selection Cycle
- We can refer to OPNFV’s selection cycle, in which OPNFV internship program application consists of three processes: schedule of selection cycles; internship project proposal; proposals execution.
- Specific design of ONAP selection cycle
Steps | Items | Status |
T0 | Start of cycle |
|
T1=T0+6m(variable) | Submission deadline |
|
T2=T1+1w(variable) | Rank list for TSC review |
|
T3=T2+1w(variable) | Proposal selection |
|
T4 = T3 + 6w(variable) | Candidate selected for each proposal |
|
T5 = T4 + 1w (variable) | Intern begins working |
