Agenda
The meeting focus on :
Review the meeting content in last call
Discussion on AM framework
Demo preparation
Participants
Lei Huang, Alexander Vul, Sundar Nadathur, Shane Wang, Bin Yang, Changjun Wang
Minutes
Because many people didn't attend the last meeting, Lei Huang reviewed the content in last call, including demo requirement, AM workflow, etc.
Alex proposed that SDC and OOF were missing in AM's workflow , we need to improve and refine the workflow designed in current version.
Alex proposed if we want to manage FPGA or GPU, we need to consider changes in the model description way, and he is willing to present the model issues together with his colleagues in upcoming call.
Alex suggested we may need to involve more PTLs in our meeting, since AM framework have impacts on many ONAP projects. And Lei Huang agree on this opinion.
Lei Huang suggested building GPU resource management capability in AM framework through the determined demo requirement, in this stage not following D release plan in ONAP community, and set it as offline stage .
Through demo's practice, we can build AM framework. At this stage, we will introduce it into ONAP E release, incorporating more acceleration resource management capabilities into AM system, such as FPGA , etc. As well as support more cases .
Next Step
Alex will present the model issues with his colleagues in upcoming call.
- In upcoming call, we will focus on discussing AM model issues and workflow improvement , as well as demo preparation plan if time is enough.

Agenda
The meeting focus on two points:
- 1.Review last meeting
- 2.Iterative discussion of existing AM architecture
Participants
Lei Huang, Shane Wang , Chuyi Guo
Minutes
- In today's meeting , we have updated AM architecture.
Acceleration might differ to different hardware vendors, lack of uniform definitions.
- In our framwork, Users should specify WHAT is going to achieve only instead of HOW to achieve.
- We divide the AM architecture into three parts to implement, they are TOSCA?Analytics?Accelerator Management?

Agenda
The meeting focus on three two points:
- 1.Review last meeting
- 2.Discuss the collected use case scenarios based on the plan
...
Lei Huang, Shane Wang , Ruijing (Intel)
Minutes
- Based on the current situation of use cases collection, attendees have summarized them at this regular meeting.
- Ruijing proposed use case around vRAN , maybe we can try to use our AM in vRAN . And find abstract acclelration requirement descriptions according to vRAN vendors' needs.
- Shane Wang proposed media transcoding as a potential use case.
- Lei Huang shared her gains at the breakout session on acceleration technology of Intel 5G Beijing meeting , and there are several potential options as follows:
1.Edge cloud gaming
2.Smart stadiums
3.VR/AR with location
4.ADAS
Etc. - Next steps: Assign team members to investigate the VNF situation of the corresponding use case, and try to determine the manufacturer's acceleration demand. Run through the workflowour of our acceleration management framework .

Agenda
The meeting focus on three points:
...
Participants
Lei Huang, Bin Yang
Minutes
- Based on the discussion of the last meeting, a more detailed discussion of the architecture has been conducted, and we thought that we should build a related workflow based on the existing proposed architecture, and that use cases will be generated.
- Bin Yang recommends finding the appropriate use case from the requirements of net element, and we will ask the relevant manufacturers for the corresponding requirements.
- Next steps: We will still work on the established plan step-by-step, and clear the framework as well as use cases.

Agenda
The meeting focus on three points:
...
Lei Huang, Shane Wang, Bin Yang
Minutes
- Clarified the division of labor in the acceleration management group plan and discussed the idea of acceleration management architecture/framework.
- Lei Huang recommends seperating group task into two parts, first part is to determine use case and call on volunteers , second is to identify the architecture of acceleration management in ONAP .
- The due date of first task is December 2018 , we welcome the demand from vendors as volunteers, and we will complete the use case collection before the deadline.
- The due date of second task is October 15th, 2018, we would like to propose an acceleration management architecture before the October architecture meeting and present it at the meeting.
- On the basis of the existing technology, we have discussed the idea of the framework of acceleration management, and Bin Yang suggested adding modeling part to our task.
- Concrete group task description and meeting contents can be found in the slide .
- Next steps: We will work on the established plan step-by-step, and clear the framework as well as use cases.

Agenda
This is the first meeting of our interest group, focus on three points:
...
Lei Huang, Chuyi Guo, Margaret Chiosi, Shane Wang, Haibin Huang, Bin Yang, Bin Sun, Tina Tsou, Xu Yang
Minutes
- Described the problem statement of the current acceleration management and discussed the team target and next work plan.
- Lei Huang recommends that the group's goal is to build end-to-end hardware acceleration management use case in ONAP D release.
- Shane Wang give a proposal that they want to enable the SR-IOV and also target at the vCPE use case to see any performance benefit they can get from the SR-IOV, but it's a rough proposal.
- Bin Yang suggests pushing from two directions to the discussion:1. bottom-up: First throw aside the ONAP, see how a specific use case is implemented, what functions or resources are involved in those platforms, and see if these functional resources can be found, orchestrated, and controlled through the rest API. 2.Top-down: Consider which modules the above features and resources relate to from ONAP perspective, and how these features and resource should be described and implemented abstractly.
- Margaret Chiosi suggests list supported acceleration techniques, before we go use case, we should list them. And we need to create a purpose of this BOF that is different from HPA.
- Haibin Huang recommends using DPDK in vCPE.
