| Use of C&PS for SON use case | | - SON team joined C&PS call at 8am ET on 10/22. Discussion of how C&PS addresses needs of SON use case.
- Yang model:
- Target: Model loaded as CSAR via SDC and available to C&PS, SDN-R etc.
- POC: Yang model can be entered directly. Model can be handcrafted. Objective is to align with ORAN/3GPP yang model, and also to align with the ONAP target for model handling.
- API:
- C&PS is transparent. XPath language used to traverse yang tree. Components like SDN-R, PCI-RSI MS, OOF etc can use that to directly access properties based on yang model.
- Also discussed if we need a microservice or common code/library etc. to make it easier for other components.
This call: API: - Clients can use full xpath queries.
- Burden on components like PCI-HANDLER and OOF and SDNR to all use xpath queries.
- Is there a way for one module to develop code and query and for others to reuse?
- We can work a solution for SON use case, and this can guide discusion for other use cases.
- Need to study amount of code involved, and if it is needed to have a common translation service in MS or SDNR.
- Note: A query packaging/translation service has its own maintenance issues. It offers convenience.
ONAP could facilitate a way of sharing, and allowing "contributed queries for sharing" without putting all the burden on C&PS team to maintain this.
