We will start our meetings by mentioning the project's Antitrust Policy, which you can find linked from the LF and project websites. The policy is important where multiple companies, including potential industry competitors, are participating in meetings. Please review and if you have any questions, please contact your company legal counsel. Members of the LF may contact Andrew Updegrove at the firm Gesmer Updegrove LLP, which provides legal counsel to the LF.

Kenny Paul noted Sections 4.3.4 of the ONAP Technical Community Document (TSC Member Job Status Changes) but also stated there are no special elections held during the months of July and August per Section 4.3.3.5. As such there is no issue with Seshu Kumar Mudiganti retaining his seat until the September election cycle - even it a two-person conflict should exist during this interim period. Seshu Kumar Mudiganti decided that he'd stay on the TSC. | ||

Kenny, I was looking at the TSC 2.0 Draft Clean.pdf doc. In the case of Seshu becoming an IC, I think you should refer to Clause 4.3.4.3 and the OPPC and Special Election does not apply during this time.

07:04:31 Okay, folks looks like i've got things doing what they're supposed to do
07:04:41 I don't think there's anyone new to the call that I see.
07:04:45 So this is probably part and parcel of everything, you know already.
07:04:56 Mention our antitrust policy This policy is important where we've got multiple companies participating in these meeting, including potential industry competitors.
07:05:03 Please review it. If you have any questions please contact your Company's Legal Council members of the Lf.
07:05:07 Ma. also contact android. the firm gives more up. Grove, Llp.
07:05:10 Which provides legal counsel to the Linux Foundation thing
07:05:19 Okay, let's see here. Oh, thanks, Tom and Catherine came in.
07:05:27 Okay, thank you.
07:05:37 Okay on the agenda. What says you say a few words?
07:05:44 David Mcbride is out so he is not available.
07:05:48 Please view the weekly status. couple of things for range.
07:05:57 Discussion of the ptl stuff some time quick update about what's going on with the labs.
07:06:13 And then life cycle events there's not a lot on the agenda today.
07:06:24 Anything anyone would like to add. not a lot, but some some some items.
07:06:38 There.
07:06:44 Yes, Guinea, but I like to do this first, And, Kenny, I will also have the an additional comments under the Ptr.
07:06:55 Section. i'm on typing now, since we had the butching Ptl leadership that we will need to hit you as well.
07:07:05 Oh, yeah, that came this morning
07:07:14 I'm adding it Now I don't know if you have in it.
07:07:19 Yeah, I was about to
07:07:23 Where's that mail where does that mail there it is
07:07:48 My mouse is not copy pasting.
07:08:02 That's weird
07:08:08 Oh, okay, I let you type because apparently
07:08:21 That's neat
07:08:27 While you are doing this, I don't know if they should Jonas putting Yep.
07:08:36 Good afternoon to catch you. Yeah, I we all seen your multification. so
07:08:42 We first of all wanted to thank you because you have been with us over the last 5 years since the beginning of the adventure.
07:08:51 You will definitely miss, because you you have been promoting.
07:08:55 Quite significantly, all the work we were doing with own app.
07:09:00 Not only with your Tse had, but you were also creating a bridge with all the open source community like exile.
07:09:09 You are also. Key leads with Lucas on the code native, and if I end, and the the Cnf task force as well in the driving, the transformation of the Cnfo being acting as a
07:09:26 Pt. for the service orchestrator. So what did to thank you for what you did for us?
07:09:34 And just wanted to ask you so you you only step down from the Tsc.
07:09:41 I didn't notice anything about service orchestrator so I was curious to know what what is your objective goal.
07:09:49 If you can share, and already we should in advance.
07:09:55 Oh, all the best luck for your new and neighbor. Thanks a lot, Katherine.
07:10:01 So first of all, I mean having associated with when I first find off.
07:10:05 Yes, I'm not going far. I can issue you there in my new adventure, too.
07:10:08 I'll be part of phoneap. Okay, that is what I that was my ask.
07:10:12 Actually so i'm glad to say that i'll be part of own app.
07:10:17 Well, the pse part. Why is step all is Because I spoke to Kenny, of course, for that, so i'll wait for the next selection to come out.
07:10:25 But from how we had to step up for ptl i'll, i'll continue that i'll actually have the election started next week onwards, and then we will call for nominations and we'll go with the
07:10:35 formal Paul process. So the reason i have not stepped on right now is because I won't actually have the process continued till there, and i'll make it formal.
07:10:42 So that people can also put in the nominations By the way, i'll also put my kind ratio for that for the ptl, so I want to retain the featureship again with a formal induction I mean I want
07:10:55 to make sure that we we have the proper proper process being followed.
07:10:58 For the nominations, and then the elections that is what we'll do by end of this month.
07:11:04 And then The results will be there i'll be waiting for the Tsc.
07:11:07 Thing based on the new for new organization's call and all by next Tsa cycle. i'll get back to you whether i'm i'll be in the race for ts or not so thank you for the
07:11:18 clarification issue. so you will keep going the adventure with us.
07:11:25 So thank you again for your engagement and and yes, to come.
07:11:30 I'm not leaving on that Yeah, and and and with the with the announcement.
07:11:39 There's you don't need to step down Oh, okay, well, if that's the case, then I can continue that's not a problem.
07:11:47 Actually yeah, that was a confusion. I wanted to clarify with you.
07:11:52 Kenny. Yeah, yeah. it's not tied to the business.
07:11:56 It's tied to the individual so if you wish to continue you can continue on with the Tsc.
07:12:05 That is not a problem. Then the the normally when the the resolution which I put is invalid, i'll be continued.
07:12:13 In that case yay. but I'll best i'll be as individual contributor.
07:12:18 Not from hallway. I don't know how to put that because usually take the the issue for me. Was you put a name with the company right?
07:12:25 That usually, while well put typically but if you if you look it's like fred step down right, he he's an Ic.
07:12:34 Randy, when he transferred not transferred when he left
07:12:43 His company. he went as an individual contributor for several weeks
07:12:50 Before announcing he had join the Lf. and
07:12:55 The psi didn't see an issue with that and he's continued on so my case is a little different any, because again. I mean as I told you before the the company where I might be ending
07:13:10 up already has a kind candidate from this so i'm not sure if 2 people from the same company can exist in the Ac.
07:13:15 That is, that is a an existing provision within within the community document.
07:13:24 That an exception is granted if somebody transfers, and and there's there there's no provision for doing a special election in the months of July and August, so working up on
07:13:41 September. Anyways, this is it's it's it's all good.
07:13:49 Then then the the mail I said forget it i'm back on track.
07:13:52 Actually i'll just put this ic in that thank you that's a great news to hear
07:14:01 So I will let the Kenny too much. Do logistic, Okay, and welcome back s issue or
07:14:16 I I think that I I think that I told folks last week that with regards to the community.
07:14:30 D that the I had to revert it back to a Pdf!
07:14:37 But if we scroll scroll down, scroll down.
07:14:54 Okay. So
07:14:55 Okay, So we've got related company which doesn't apply here one person per company rule.
07:15:03 All those seats are issued to individuals and not companies.
07:15:08 Only one person from any company or group of related companies may be a member of the Tsc.
07:15:13 At any time. The exception of this rule are, a sitting member.
07:15:20 Of the Tsc. who's impacted by a merger or acquisition.
07:15:28 May retain their may retain their seat, or somebody that wins a special election following a job change.
07:15:42 But we have no provision for special election during August and July.
07:15:48 So okay, you can retain your seat. until the regular election in September with us in their contributor, because we cannot have 2 members representing the same company. right?
07:16:05 I would be as an Ic: Yes, Yeah. okay.
07:16:14 So we'll be loading right to constraint or Not in that case, will the i'm sorry we'll know what they considered what what what the vote they're multiple people from a company can can run for an office but only one of
07:16:29 them can be elected. No, no i'm asking if I am A Ic.
07:16:34 And one more person from my company. all says a part of the Dse.
07:16:39 When there is anything any vote to be taken. Okay, how do you?
07:16:42 How do you construct? I mean will you whether you consider both the words, or you'll only consider the the word from the company are not from dicey
07:16:51 Well between now and the election. it would be both okay.
07:17:01 Thanks for clarifying and i'm happy to be back
07:17:12 Okay.
07:17:18 Moving on the con release. m 3 is coming up the first of the month. David's got the weekly status out there.
07:17:33 And the next license scan should be completed next week.
07:17:38 So that's good. Any release related items there
07:17:51 You know what I check check Checker. Is there anything you you would like to share?
07:17:56 I know you complete all the Architecture Review, and I was wondering if there is anything on your area that you wanted to to share.
07:18:06 Just what I had said earlier right we we had probably over.
07:18:16 I'm gonna say 18 to 20 reviews they cover a lot of good and useful features and capabilities.
07:18:31 All the ptls and the presenters did a great job preparing and presenting.
07:18:37 I think if there's one area there like to highlight, the hand, something that I highlighted before is are the changes that fiata has made to excuse me to dmap the changes are significant i'm not
07:18:58 sure i'm hoping that all the pts have had the chance to take a look at the changes assess the changes in the system impact or the impacts on their respective components.
07:19:13 I would suspect that we'll have some fallouts when we go into the integration test cycle.
07:19:21 But I would the i'll strongly encourage all the details to look at the changes One more time handling all the changes as well as
07:19:33 You know any updates that they may need to make to their respective components as soon as possible.
07:19:41 Again. if you actor didn't great job socializing the it changes with everybody.
07:19:48 I I am aware of a lot of one ones that he's had with the ptls so I just wanna make sure that the ptls do the due diligence.
07:19:59 And they do diligence and listen to what the accurate is proposing in.
07:20:06 Make sure they They handled that within their
07:20:12 But no, the reviews were as an overall overall.
07:20:18 The reviews were very useful, well done, well prepared and well presented.
07:20:24 So, thanks again to all of the ptls for doing another great job
07:20:33 That's all I have to share unless anybody has any questions the only question that I have.
07:20:42 I thank you for bringing this. I know that the D map transformation is scheduled for several other release, but maybe it could be a topics for the Ptr.
07:20:53 Call to remind people. I think there was a wiki page, probably Shaker, where everything, everything is in I mean the only way I could.
07:21:07 The only the easiest way I could direct you to.
07:21:09 It is that if you go to the the document navigator and the the link that I share on regular basis with the with the meet the agenda, excuse me if you click on it takes you to the dashboard on
07:21:30 the dashboard. You click on Dmap, and you bring them up The Jr.
07:21:36 Ticket once you bring up the Jared ticket. Tierra has really done a great job documenting.
07:21:45 All the changes in all the documentations are actually a reference in the Jared ticket.
07:21:51 So i'm not sure who's doing the driving but if you yes, what I would do is Yes, if you could go to Let's say go to any
07:22:09 Let's go through this month last month meeting
07:22:19 I would go to let's say the thirty-first may thirty-first keep going right there
07:22:28 If it's called a little bit to go and keep going on, please.
07:22:34 Keep going There's a list of Keep going okay let me just give you a minute
07:22:47 Keep going down. Please look for the or review for Dmap.
07:23:02 Right there, right there, click on it on that No, it can you click on?
07:23:10 Yes, the Jared ticket itself. Thank you. so as you could see over here right reference talking.
07:23:17 If you click on the reference document
07:23:24 So you hear reactor documented in detail all the changes that he's made to D map
07:23:36 So if you scroll down and you'll see that there's a lot of good information useful information about the changes, and so on, and so forth.
07:23:47 This is great. So this is standard template that we do for the we use for the architecture reviews.
07:23:57 But and this is something that reactor has been doing since the
07:24:02 Late last year, early this year. anything that you need to know about the changes or included over here.
07:24:09 If there's anything missing i'm pretty sure fiaca will be glad to help you understand better what the changes are.
07:24:16 But I would encourage everybody to take a look at this documentation
07:24:24 Hey? chuckle. This was j I I did have a couple of this question with fear around this this one, I mean.
07:24:33 I think my understanding is the Mr. would still be retained for Coe as a backward compatible, and it'll be a multi-release effort to change all the components to point.
07:24:43 I mean use Simc Kafka right. from I I don't know if that is clearly identified in this page, or that was one of my confusion. and and then I just wanted to figure and he clarify maybe that should
07:24:54 be noted part of the document, in my opinion, because I think that that way, I mean, although the projects are going to start there, for it may not be something. achieve will in one release and given that we already few weeks away from the M.
07:25:11 3, I mean, for the quote freeze Okay, I think it's good useful feedback.
07:25:16 If you if you don't mind vj if you could shoot an email to the actors. see me on it. I'm pretty sure he'll put that too I don't want to commit for him always speak for him.
07:25:27 Based on my previous experiences with him he'd be he'd be more than willing to planify
07:25:35 The point that you just made sorry I can send out. Yeah, I mean, he did this one on the discuss list when he Yeah, for the question I had.
07:25:42 But you would well let him know to update the Wiki
07:25:49 So can you while you're on this page almost all of the reviews, the architecture reviews we have completed for all the components use the same template.
07:26:03 So if you go from Dmap to another component basically, you'll see the same format.
07:26:13 You have the diagram, all the changes that we've made to the architecture of the specific component, and all the references to to the apis to the requirements geer tickets anything that is useful and helpful to the reader
07:26:35 to make sure that they understand what the changes are. that are being introduced.
07:26:43 Right, however, though you could always improve the the documentation.
07:26:49 So if anyone looks through the documentations and they see something that is missing, just shoot me an email, and i'll make sure that we discuss the the architecture review of the architecture subcommittee meeting, and then If everybody
07:27:06 agrees that we will just add it to the thing but but this is the standard temple that we've been using for the past couple of at this point
07:27:19 Great stuff any other questions. comments. and again if you could bring up the I don't know if you're able to bring up the and navigator.
07:27:28 It's n I o r t if you go if you go to your
07:27:36 Go back. If you go back to the and the agenda, go back, just go back to the agenda
07:27:51 Scroll up a little bit. Go back to the top, see what it says.
07:27:56 Back to the Okay, keep going. Yeah. you have a link that takes you back to the top. I don't know if you see it right under the agenda for today.
07:28:06 Keep going up. it's easier
07:28:12 Keep going up. Go back to the top if you could Oh, I I'm.
07:28:18 Sorry click references ponder if you go to keep going see what it says.
07:28:29 Useful links under quick references. more useful links Keep going.
07:28:35 Keep going down, down, down, down right there see what it says.
07:28:45 Dashboard under cone or 11 right click on it.
07:28:51 If you would click click through it. Yeah, click through it.
07:28:58 Keep going. I just change the scroll down a little bit.
07:29:06 So at the bottom of the page, you have to accept the certificate.
07:29:09 Yeah, proceed. Exactly. So Now, if you click on, if you go to Dmap, see what dmap in in the middle, Yeah, keep going right.
07:29:20 Keep going up on prime. My mouse is like not going there right there.
07:29:31 If you click on it
07:29:39 Let me go to let me go to my test pad No, that's fine. but this this gives you an idea.
07:29:45 This gives you an idea of the amount of changes that we made were made to the
07:29:48 The role. All the green boxes and the orange color boxes, all the boxes that have presented and are planning on portrait in the release.
07:30:03 The boxes would be yellow halo if you will these are the components actually sent an email out to the architecture subcommittee, indicating that they're not to participate in the release we keep track of those that
07:30:19 are participating in those that indicated that will not. They will not participate.
07:30:26 And we save the emails. for those, the one that has question, Mark is the control design studio right?
07:30:34 So we did not receive a notification from Cds as to whether there are going to participate or not.
07:30:44 So just left it as I wanna say question Mark but otherwise the dashboard tells you basically gives you an idea as to what's being changed for the next release.
07:30:57 You should be able to click on the green box and the green box.
07:31:03 Once you click on it. It takes you to the jared ticket it's not it's not click it's not clicking through.
07:31:09 You must be are you using a mac or you have to use firefox, if you're not using firefox, it'll be Oh, no, i'm using that i'm using chrome Yeah, fine.
07:31:21 That's fine. Yeah, Yeah, it's not clicking through yeah That's fine.
07:31:24 Yeah, yeah. So they're there there are plugins for chrome that I didn't include so be lazy.
07:31:29 But that's fine I mean this gives you a view of what has changed And we do the same thing for each level.
07:31:41 Release. Okay, and that's all I have unless anybody has any questions or comments
07:31:53 Just just one question regarding let's say tools we will introduce with the O.
07:31:59 One team which are not really related new function so not additional functions in that respect.
07:32:06 But it's our most support tools like when we go for E or Sto service mesh, we will in, will introduce whatever key cloak deployment.
07:32:17 And this integrate something. This is at the moment not covered in the architecture reviews.
07:32:22 I don't think that it's needed let's say but it just wanted to clarify so far oem, and what the M.
07:32:30 Might deliver as let's say platform add-ons to support, let's say, the the the the infrastructure, or the the handling.
07:32:39 This is at the moment not covered in the architectures right?
07:32:42 So so so, Andreas, the way the way I look at this, at least what we do with the architecture.
07:32:50 And the architecture. subcommittee it's It's a way for us to share it's like an information sharing.
07:33:01 Yeah. session, just as much as it is reviewing the changes Right?
07:33:07 So even though that I mean I don't want to define what the at this point in time, what should go through an architecture review, and what shouldn't but my preference would be to I schedule it on the agenda.
07:33:23 For one of the upcoming Architecture Review session.
07:33:27 So all the details understand what's what you're doing in whether the changes that you're making or the good work that you're doing, somehow, some way impacts there I had any way, to plan that
07:33:45 and then see what I can manage. that that the I'd update the documentation, especially for that service mesh to implement having some some session around.
07:33:58 That. So how how the changes would look like let's say if we introduced and service mesh and and and the ingress as a main interface basically for audio?
07:34:08 Now functions and apis, and so on. Exactly exactly so.
07:34:14 So this discussion is, is an ongoing like service mesh aaf.
07:34:19 Yeah, something yeah, exactly. Some of the components that we use in like, for example, right?
07:34:26 Some components are using it. CD and some components are using a CD as a
07:34:36 Local instance, and some components are using that CD as a global service. right?
07:34:41 So i'm not saying one is better than the other but this is discussion that we had briefly at the architecture subcommittee meeting to figure out exactly whether a CD.
07:34:54 Should be service. Should we continue using the CD per component should be, Should we standardize on using it?
07:35:03 Cd. versus using something as council or some other components.
07:35:06 These are the discussions that we we can have. That would be outside the realm of the reviews.
07:35:13 But they are just as useful to the rest of the community.
07:35:18 Yeah, definitely, definitely, I I agree completely. I was also wondering whether this should be put into the Pdl meeting or in the architecture.
07:35:28 Review. I think architecture I would be the best because it's, let's say, should collect all the information basically around them.
07:35:37 Exactly exactly yeah that's what I would recommend yeah definitely.
07:35:40 I will I will i'm i'm I don't know whether I managed in the neck because I would be next 2 weeks.
07:35:47 I have I will be in the office basically and then I have 2 weeks application.
07:35:51 I'll check whether I can manage to to let's say document and to let's say show something which I can present, maybe in the in the architecture review and and put this into the agenda Then yeah, we don't have
07:36:06 time for that. Yeah, that's fine the architecture subcommittee is on vacation until September thirteenth.
07:36:14 Okay, So you have time. Okay, Okay, Okay, so you have time yeah, we're all for for the summer.
07:36:22 Just because, we wanted to give the members chance to enjoy their summer vacation.
07:36:28 So we'll reconvene on September thirteenth.
07:36:30 Okay, yeah. I'll Then have a little bit also back Okay.
07:36:34 Fine. right? Good. Okay. Okay. Any other questions. comments.
07:36:50 Okay, Thank you. really appreciate that. sucker moving on couple of things.
07:37:03 Lfx related I found out I did not know this.
07:37:09 Found out that if folks are using the Google to log in and they've been doing that exclusively.
07:37:21 That no Lfa. Id was ever required. I always thought that the first time you did it it would prompt you to create one, but evidently I was very wrong.
07:37:33 And having never done it since I had an account.
07:37:36 I wouldn't have known that anyway. so I found this out the other day.
07:37:42 Which means we've got this whole class of folks that are active participants.
07:37:49 That don't have an actual lfid so please go and fill it out, and I realize I didn't put the link in there.
07:38:00 Go find it, and I will drop that in place.
07:38:07 Unless somebody else on the call can drop that in place into the chat, and i'll just cut and paste it not go looking for
07:38:19 The other thing is that they've recently put out a project roadmap for Lfx.
07:38:29 Where you can look at some of the features that are being proposed.
07:38:32 And upload them got the link there in the minutes.
07:38:37 Henry put out a blog post on it. in
07:38:45 The Palace Forum. if you wanna read that that link is there.
07:38:50 The other items that I don't have bullet for which is not Lfx related, but is actually get lab related.
07:39:03 I still think that we are waiting on waiting on seed code.
07:39:10 Is that correct? folks
07:39:24 Okay. hearing nothing, I will assume that no one on the call is sure
07:39:40 Was it a request from bank for the work we are doing with the integration team?
07:39:48 Yes, I don't know if andreas you can do you have any of data we need to follow up with.
07:39:56 Oh, just team members
07:40:13 So we'll have to update that then maybe during the next days, or something or and check that.
07:40:19 But i'm also not sure whether he was he was actively working on that on that part at the moment.
07:40:23 So, or if there's any any other team. member. at the moment in of the integration team who is doing that. So I I'm not up to date with that at the moment.
07:40:34 Okay. Yeah, we need to pull up offline. then, Kenny, I guess
07:40:53 Okay. Nope: Anything else, tool or infrastructure related
07:41:04 You just said that the lap is back. Yeah, the unhappy is back right?
07:41:09 That was some question. You can just go ahead and bounce to that.
07:41:19 So there was issues with it. had to be real reinitialized
07:41:27 So lost some of the vms. also required passwords to be reset.
07:41:37 Work is ongoing but it's coming back is Catherine mentioned So that's just for everyone to be aware of the daily bills. Katherine, i'm assuming you drop that in there
07:41:59 or somebody else.
07:42:11 No, I I did. an add anything. Yeah.
07:42:19 So I guess David must have been sorry I was you mean the ones with with the actual app. That was my myself.
07:42:29 Just information. Sorry just as an information The o one team is planning to update the releases or the versions of kubernetes and helm, and so on.
07:42:46 In the for the environments, because we have let's say we had. we restored in an quite old version, because it makes the on one hand.
07:43:00 We had issues with the with the especially with the Chart museum of the registration, the one where we push our code to push the hand charts to to an old version.
07:43:09 Now we decided we should go forward and and update now the version.
07:43:16 So that means The plan is that we i've i've done that already on the on the dt side, at least for the service mesh builds.
07:43:25 So the daily service mash builds. but I want to do that together with with me. How?
07:43:32 As well for the gatings, so that we that we will use the new version.
07:43:39 So the updated versions of of Helm and Kubernetes in also in the in these labs.
07:43:46 That will require as well an update in how limiting jobs.
07:43:50 So Piaka was already, or is already, has already provided, a patch for for the ranch part. So for the for the for the Jenkins.
07:44:00 This has to be implemented. But it just wanted to say that during that period where we update the lab and up need to update, basically, then, the the gating tests, and so on, or linking tests it there can be some
07:44:14 some problems during then. let's say these kind of jobs.
07:44:19 Yeah. So just to make you aware that, that there can be some, some, some some issues on that.
07:44:25 But at least it will help us especially updating the elm release.
07:44:30 Will help us, especially in the linking jobs of the owner.
07:44:34 Pound charts at the moment with the old version.
07:44:36 It takes 10 h to to lind the own up helm chats with that patch.
07:44:41 It takes then about in the optimization case 20 min. Yeah. so.
07:44:46 And that makes, of course, all the the lives easier. So we decided now to go forward to do that.
07:44:54 So we are quite at the at the latest versions.
07:44:58 Then the update to the other. next release of kubernetes will require some additional
07:45:05 Let's say, changes most likely because we won't use any docker demon anymore as a as a as a container manager.
07:45:15 So we just need them to use only for container D, which require also some more changes.
07:45:22 But it would be then. it may be in the next kind of step.
07:45:26 The first thing is that one that means we will change the make files of the Om.
07:45:32 So that the home charts now would build with the with a new chart, a museum plug in and so on.
07:45:39 As I said, there there might be some, some, some some smaller hiccups for for a certain time.
07:45:46 But we will manage that to to fix that
07:45:53 Thank you that's that will make thanks much easier that's that's a huge change
07:46:10 Thank you so much. You're welcome and I think also the second is is happy that we have newer releases can use it again.
07:46:23 Thank you so much, Andrea
07:46:31 Okay. anything else? Infrastructure lab Okay. Then popping back up to ptl updates liam's been reelected.
07:46:51 Congratulations. last call for integration ptl If we don't have anyone stepping up from the Tsc.
07:47:04 Will need to figure out what to do. and that will be a major topic for next week's meeting
07:47:20 Yeah, it will be. And so that's Why, But there is one action items that we need to discuss today.
07:47:30 Some of you have probably noticed that Canada hash is stepping down from the Cli and also Vnn.
07:47:38 Sdk. there is still an intention to keep going from their side.
07:47:42 The project, nevertheless. they have appointed a new person. then zoom or zoom I apologize if I don't say correctly the name, but the issue we see that we really appreciate any contribution
07:47:59 from anybody. the issue we see is that you need that zoom is not a committer, so it means it's required special special vote from the Dc.
07:48:12 To make next call the honey external exception, to still support these 2 projects.
07:48:21 So the good news is, we have somebody with Co. busy to take it over.
07:48:26 But is not you only a committer? and therefore I think we need to to just get the buy and just get.
07:48:34 We need the buying of the own up. Tc.
07:48:37 To confirm that we can perform an exception for these 2 projects.
07:48:43 Kenny, is anything you want to add no I think the big issue here is that we've got committer tables that have not been maintained in some cases.
07:49:01 They have not been maintained since. kind of things were originally set up back in 2017 and for others we have some of the repos.
07:49:16 We have a situation where the kind of garage was the only committer on that.
07:49:27 So we've got some big challenges here that we we need to get addressed, and Tsc.
07:49:38 Probably needs to discuss that a bit. given the fact that this was just announced this morning.
07:49:47 I don't think that taking a vote today would be the right thing to do.
07:49:52 I think the Tse probably needs a a week or so to.
07:49:57 Think that through, and we should probably see if anyone else wants to step up as that is on the committer list.
07:50:04 I wants to set up, step up as a committer. What I can do is go through all the repos and figure out what we have.
07:50:12 This is gonna take some time, cause like I said, some of these repos have not been maintained since they were
07:50:21 The list have not been maintained since that was launched
07:50:41 So that's where we are there. So I think it to sees the opportunity to give you this project and invite zoom.
07:50:50 That done, all done zoom also. to quiz on this project as well.
07:50:55 Yeah. Sorry. Yeah, I think certainly we should have that individual attend the next.
07:51:05 Tsc. meeting. for sure. I can pass on that information to certain
07:51:14 I I think we need sort of a proper nomination as well.
07:51:19 I I saw that it. It looked like it was just a succession.
07:51:24 We would need some some information about the individual. yeah,
07:51:33 And in some cases where Kong garage is the only committer on the project.
07:51:40 Certainly. then, that's a pretty easy vote but the problem is is that we have somebody that's not a committer at all being nominated to take it on.
07:51:50 So to to your point, Magnus. Yeah, we need we need a bit of due diligence here to be worked through
07:52:05 I agree, so that's why we need also to have also a special vote.
07:52:11 But we need to do. We have more data. So, Katu, I can help you one way. that I mean, for the Tsc.
07:52:19 Is that I can call. I can pass on this information to Sudan. she's actually she she can actually attend Tsc.
07:52:27 Next week about. Perhaps I can ask her to come and join us.
07:52:31 And maybe the Magnus question grounds answer there and further to any other questions from Ts members.
07:52:36 Maybe that can also be answered by her. If I if if that is required, I can become the facilitator.
07:52:43 Very. I can pass on the message to Shuddan to be there in Tsc. part.
07:52:47 Any other information which is required by Tsa. I can also pass on that to shut up what you?
07:52:52 You know that we were about to discuss the the project review and maybe it's a nice segue for topics that we wanted to discuss a little bit later.
07:53:05 So I would suggest that we start with this project yeah and thank you for helping this issue, and my apologies, and you don't know It's a sheep.
07:53:15 Yeah, I mean I want to just try for that so it's a sheep.
07:53:18 And she has been with I mean in the background.
07:53:21 She has been working on the project i'll i'll clarify that just very brief. and she has been very active, with just the coconut contributions.
07:53:28 Yeah, she was not there as a committering in of the projects, but she has been involved into.
07:53:34 So into Dca also, and even to Cl. I mean, if you get to some extent.
07:53:41 So she has been actively participated by the way She's also part of the current workforce working on the Ibm in the Internet base networking.
07:53:50 She's also one of the leads in that project too. So she's not new to on that.
07:53:56 But yeah, own up community doesn't know her because she has been contributing from I can say from hobby side.
07:54:03 But I think I can surely have a a discussion enabled where she can come and talk about what is her interest, and maybe that way we'll be able to have a better understanding of what she is all about
07:54:21 Okay, Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Okay. Anything else on that
07:54:37 There. Okay. moving on. Magnus. I want to provide the review. The Spc.
07:54:47 Call right. Yes, and you can help me if needed. Kenny.
07:54:53 So. Sbc is the Lfm Strategic Planning committee, and I have the privilege then to be participating in that on behalf of
07:55:04 And there was a change in in A chairman there John a Soyer, and from Nokia was stepping down.
07:55:14 And ye who from Seti it took over the the the chair and he's the director of open source in CD standardization strategy team, so that seems to be a good match.
07:55:32 He was actually bringing up the the the yeah. the the problem with new open source communities in China as some kind of Yeah.
07:55:46 A reflection of the geopolitics.
07:55:49 And he he was concerned with that and and said that he really wanted to mitigate that and didn't see a a benefit in having sort of a separate parallel open source communities i'm trying to to yeah, endorse the
07:56:06 the global aspect. He was also talking about the sort of host message to sell to companies that with them, with the open source in general.
07:56:25 And they we talked about the bit about the convince your boss, Kit. and I think we we talked about that in porter as well, so we would need to to work with that
07:56:38 So the yeah, the value proposition of from from a company point of view.
07:56:45 There was also K. if Kpi Review Casey was, was there.
07:56:52 I Yeah. There was a discussion about the badging program.
07:57:01 There, Kenny, presented these statistics from the Porto dtf the participation both face to face and and remote.
07:57:15 And we talked a bit about the sort of prospect of of a hybrid meetings, or or face to face meetings, and so on.
07:57:26 There is also an upcoming budget, the cycle.
07:57:32 And Yeah fix this timeline on that it's that is starting now to to set the the budget for next year.
07:57:44 Next meeting is on September twelfth.
07:57:48 If anyone wants to sort of feels that they they want to bring something up, and I I will be able to help.
07:57:55 There. Kenny, did you want to add anything that I I missed?
07:58:02 No, I think that was a great summary of the meeting.
07:58:06 And probably much more concise than I would have provided.
07:58:17 Well while covering the same content. Okay, thanks. you, too humble. okay.
07:58:21 That that was my short report on the on the meeting. Thanks.
07:58:26 Yeah, no, that was great. that was outstanding. Thank you.
07:58:31 Any questions.
07:58:38 Okay, look Next Enterprise meeting will be near the end of the month.
07:58:44 Sorry I I just had a question on the previous topic I didn't go fast enough.
07:58:54 So you mentioned the fact that there will be new open source community doing the same thing, or it was not clear.
07:59:05 No, it it was Yeah. who brought that up? concerned that there are.
07:59:14 Yeah new open source communities coming up in China I I don't know the details.
07:59:18 But he was concerned that they were in parallel sort of taking the same kind of of issues and that they they were.
07:59:30 Yeah, targeting the same same area not happening but it's a risk.
07:59:39 Okay, Okay, yeah, it's it's it's a risk, And and one of the things that I know that that our it team had been requested to do for some projects in the past, is to try and mirror
07:59:58 something out to getty and unfortunately all of that work is no longer possible for or replicating
08:00:12 Our repose out to that repository.
08:00:19 That repository management system for folks that don't know.
08:00:25 Getty is basically a A it. Github.
08:00:31 Github like management system I don't know why i'm stumbling through the words here so much.
08:00:37 I'm sorry anyways, we have had requests within the Lf.
08:00:44 To try and mirror some of our github repos out there.
08:00:47 And work had started on that and unfortunately it's no longer possible.
08:00:53 As a result, there are companies that are basically creating their own open source infrastructure that is relatively siloed specifically to that.
08:01:14 To that company or that entity so they're in line some of the challenges.
08:01:24 That gee! seeing and why he thinks that that it's really important for the Lf to try and take an active role in uniting these open source efforts
08:01:45 Sounds Yeah. Sorry can you when you're seeing this you know applications at the left level, or is it?
08:01:53 Lfn limit. No, this is He was speaking in general.
08:02:02 That he saw this as a challenge to the the the whole spirit in the and the work that we are trying to do in open source globally, not just with an Lfn.
08:02:19 That was a It was a much more general perspective on that sure.
08:02:24 So it's not even lf actually it's talking about across all the open source communities up to globe right.
08:02:29 That makes sense. Okay, Okay.
08:02:41 Okay, moving on. We We had pretty good discussion on Monday at the at the Projects meeting the the Un.
08:03:01 Maintain Projects meeting So there was proposal to remove a couple of sections here in the document.
08:03:14 Not going to ask the Tsc. to vote on that at this moment.
08:03:19 But what I want to make sure is that the tsc doesn't see any fundamental problems with it?
08:03:32 So scrolling down here to where are we so this section here on release process is, and and remember these are updates to the community document we're talking about here.
08:03:49 This section of the release process is related to the project life Cycle, and the discussion was that all of this information that is is main, that is here is actually not related to the project.
08:04:14 What I the the the the project, life cycle itself.
08:04:19 It is release process. that is all managed outside the context of the life site.
08:04:26 The project life cycle. So the recommendation was that these sections just be removed.
08:04:38 Altogether as it's it's maintained as part of the relief, rather than part of part of the lifecycle.
08:04:48 I can drop the link here. You want to see it drop that into the chat window.
08:04:57 I'm glad my mouse is working once again, that makes me happy.
08:05:11 So that was I would ask the Tsc. to please look through that.
08:05:16 This has been a as all of you know this has been something that's been on the on the Tsc.
08:05:26 Docket for months now. and we're trying to make some progress on it.
08:05:34 So please take a look at that and relationship to what we're trying to do.
08:05:42 If you have any if you have any concerns about it, please drop an email to the Tsc.
08:05:50 List any questions around that. No, that's good progress because we we start to give you some piece last week at the Tc.
08:06:01 Now we have the Maintenance task force, adding the Yes.
08:06:05 Input so i'm pretty sure we can close that before the you know the only day Sounds sounds like at least thank you so much.
08:06:12 Everybody. I know that you need to finalize it. So I invite all the Tc.
08:06:17 To do this. Thank you. Yeah, we will do similar to what we did with the with the Tsc.
08:06:27 * rework for this what we'll do is we'll have all of the final all of the final changes, and then have the Tsc.
08:06:40 Vote on that on the modifications to that entire section, rather than do a piece by piece, vote on each little component that that may be changed.
08:06:54 Does that make sense? any questions?
08:07:02 Okay, No, thank you. Catherine mentioned earlier last project review was July, so probably time to stick kick off some new project reviews.
08:07:20 And starting with cli and vnf sdk Sounds like a as she mentioned a good thing to start with
08:07:31 We've already talked about elections jakarta words are open and extended through the ninth.
08:07:38 Folks may be seeing people posting their award badges.
08:07:43 From last year, so we'll be doing this and I will be trying to go back through the backlog that we have of things that predate predate last year's awards so please go and nominate
08:08:04 your peers.
08:08:12 The edge updates at this point for own app should be complete.
08:08:18 If you think that you should have received a badge and you didn't please let me know
08:08:27 And
08:08:32 Okay, that's that. If you think you should have gotten a badge. Please let me know.
08:08:35 We have several cases where, for some reason, the the email address that was picked up was incorrect, and we had to.
08:08:43 We had to fix that by catherine one someone's coming up, as is the developer and testing forum.
08:08:54 We've been beating the drum on that for quite a while now.
08:08:58 Folks should be aware of it. and if not, the links are in the minutes
08:09:08 Anything else for today.
